Medical Question, I seem to have a problem with my kidneys, that the doctors cant find a reason for...?

I have extreme pain in my right kidney, followed by lots of blood in my urine. I don't generally drink a lot, but i tried to on the docs request, and it made the pain worse. There was no sign of a Urinary Tract Infection, however within the next week I experienced an uncomfortable feeling in my Urethra, it felt like there was something sharp in there, quite painful, and not easily ignored. Though it didn't hurt when i urinated. I had an ultra Sound, which showed i have gallstones, but no sign of kidney stones or anything else that was accountable for the pain. My urine samples taken by the doc, show nothing unusual apart from the blood. The blood in my urine was clearly only noticeable when the pain was extreme. Can any one help me? I am currently waiting to see a specialist, just wondering if any one had any ideas....
